Leenie Brown fell in love with Jane Austen's works when she first read Sense and Sensibility followed immediately by Pride and Prejudice in her early teens. As the second of five daughters and an avid reader, she has always loved to see where her imagination takes her and to play with and write about the characters she meets along the way. In 2013, these two loves collided when she stumbled upon the world of Jane Austen Fan Fiction. A year later, in 2014, she began writing her own Austen-inspired stories and began publishing them in 2015. Leenie lives in Nova Scotia, Canada with her two teenage boys and her very own Mr. Brown (a wonderful mix of all the best of Darcy, Bingley and Edmund with healthy dose of the teasing Mr. Tillney and just a dash of the scolding Mr. Knightley).

  1. They just don’t make anything like that anymore. Everything in that room is well made, functional and lovely. Much as I like the chairs, I am drawn to those big wonderful windows. My parents had a nice older home with big windows, but they pale in comparison to these! I love the way you pair the photos with snippets of a story. It makes a wonderful picture even better, and the picture gives us a glimpse into the past.

    1. Thank you. I enjoy trying to pair up pictures with the story. This Georgian style house was built right around 1811, if I am remembering correctly, and it is a beautiful home turned museum not too far from where I live. I love visiting places like this and seeing the antiques. There were windows like in many of the first and second story rooms. In fact, I believe, there were two more windows of that size on the wall that would join with this one since the room was the front left corner of the house.

  2. I loved the sun porch in your parents house. It was nice to just sit in there on a sunny day and look out at the yard.

    1. Oh, yes, it was! I did love those years on the farm. Some of the best memories are from there. (Maybe not the clay fight in the gravel pit, however. 😉 )

      1. when my grandson Jakob 3 Amanda and I took him to a gravel pit and taught him to climb the piles and slide down. I learned that it is tougher when you are older and Amanda learned not to slide down gravel piles wearing shorts. It is just part of growing up in a road construction family. Just wait until we take all 4 girls.

          1. Anna turns 3 tomorrow. She will be getting here big present then and share her birthday party with Jakob on Sunday. He will be 14 next week.
