Leenie Brown

Leenie Brown fell in love with Jane Austen's works when she first read Sense and Sensibility followed immediately by Pride and Prejudice in her early teens. As the second of five daughters and an avid reader, she has always loved to see where her imagination takes her and to play with and write about the characters she meets along the way. In 2013, these two loves collided when she stumbled upon the world of Jane Austen Fan Fiction. A year later, in 2014, she began writing her own Austen-inspired stories and began publishing them in 2015. Leenie lives in Nova Scotia, Canada with her two teenage boys and her very own Mr. Brown (a wonderful mix of all the best of Darcy, Bingley and Edmund with healthy dose of the teasing Mr. Tillney and just a dash of the scolding Mr. Knightley).

  1. Once again, beautiful draping of the fabric. I am in love with the windows and the flowing frilly draperies. Just gorgeous. I loved his boots too, the way the leather molded to his legs, and creased. I loved everything artistically about this picture, except perhaps the artificial posing of the people. I know it was a style, but I find it a bit affected. The guy could be Bingley, and the ingenue standing like a madonna with a toothache could only be Jane. The woman seated has to be Mrs. Bennet! I have not yet decided who,the lady in lavender is. Aunt Gardiner perhaps? Since she is wearing a cap, she must be married and is too young to be Aunt Phillips. Anyway, another lovely picture. The colors and the light are amazing. Yet another artist to look up. I do love how you are expanding our art appreciation here. So much fun to see what is up every week. We finally have our house listed and on the market, and I am taking a small break to savor life and not clean and/or pack every waking moment. (Just every other.). This picture is definitely one to study while I am in a mood to savor something beautiful. Amazing workmanship and talent.

    1. I’m so glad you like it. I am constantly amazed by the abilities of these artists. I agree about it looking too posed. And it is Bingley from tomorrow’s story that inspired me to pick this piece.

Happy to hear your house is up on the market. Hopefully, it will not be there for too long. 🙂
