The February 2021 Saturday Broadsheet

The Saturday Broadsheet, with all my writing life updates, is now available at the link at the bottom of this short post. In this issue of the Broadsheet you will find:

  • Info about what is posting on my blog — which you probably already know. 🙂
  • My progress on several writing and publishing projects (If you are an email subscriber, there will be an exclusive excerpt from a story to read in this section.)
  • Info about three books that are on sale — one is mine, two are from Shannon Winslow
  • A video of review clips that I just recently made for Mr. Bingley Plans a Ball
  • A video about King Alfred and Anglo-Saxon Oatcakes

Hopefully, you will find something of interest and perhaps a book to add to your TBR (to be read) pile. 🙂

Have a great weekend!

I’ll be back on Monday with a story and song pairing.

Leenie Brown fell in love with Jane Austen's works when she first read Sense and Sensibility followed immediately by Pride and Prejudice in her early teens. As the second of five daughters and an avid reader, she has always loved to see where her imagination takes her and to play with and write about the characters she meets along the way. In 2013, these two loves collided when she stumbled upon the world of Jane Austen Fan Fiction. A year later, in 2014, she began writing her own Austen-inspired stories and began publishing them in 2015. Leenie lives in Nova Scotia, Canada with her two teenage boys and her very own Mr. Brown (a wonderful mix of all the best of Darcy, Bingley and Edmund with healthy dose of the teasing Mr. Tillney and just a dash of the scolding Mr. Knightley).

  1. I loved that video. Treating your husband like a king… fabulous. I thought those looked pretty good. I think I would need to test at lease one or two in the skillet just for a variation. However, even if they fell apart, they residue could be eaten over ice cream, or with milk in a bow, or any number of ways. Yes, the story of the King letting the cakes burn, was funny. Bless his heart. I didn’t realize he had such an impact on society that has lasted even to today. Wow! I love Miller and his videos. I’ve watched him several times doing different things. I love his eyes. Man. Such a cute kid. Thanks for sharing, Leenie.

    1. Oooh, over ice cream or even as a sort of cereal would be good. 🙂 I love this guys videos, too. I love his mix of humor and history with making the recipe.
