“Do you think we will get to purchase some ribbons today?” she asked Kitty. “I should like one for my bonnet. Red would be delightful to go with my sprigged muslin dress, do you not think so, Colonel?”

Leenie Brown

Leenie Brown fell in love with Jane Austen's works when she first read Sense and Sensibility followed immediately by Pride and Prejudice in her early teens. As the second of five daughters and an avid reader, she has always loved to see where her imagination takes her and to play with and write about the characters she meets along the way. In 2013, these two loves collided when she stumbled upon the world of Jane Austen Fan Fiction. A year later, in 2014, she began writing her own Austen-inspired stories and began publishing them in 2015. Leenie lives in Nova Scotia, Canada with her two teenage boys and her very own Mr. Brown (a wonderful mix of all the best of Darcy, Bingley and Edmund with healthy dose of the teasing Mr. Tillney and just a dash of the scolding Mr. Knightley).

  1. I think I know the tone of that speaker. It can only be Lydia. La! That girl and her ribbons. Look out Colonel.

  2. Oh that Colonel. He is an officer in His Majesty’s army, a brilliant strategist, and now, lo and behold, he has taken on the role of fashion consultant! He is a multi-talented kind of guy!

  3. Velvet hat and fine wool dress. Ahhhhh. So pretty.

You know, Peeps…if those two get together….. He’ll have to leave the military and spend a lot of time taming her…just enough…to keep her down to earth and still be able to enjoy the fireworks she would be sure to bring to his life. Because you know he wouldn’t end up doing that unless he was in love. He needs practicality, and passion. She needs a firm but loving hand, and soooo much guidance. But the sparks, the sparks!!! After dark.
