Get a $0.99 shot of Darcy sweetness this weekend

I hope you are safe and well. Below you will find information about what I got done in my writing life this week and links to a book that is on sale from now until next Wednesday (April 8). I also have news about a set of books that will be leaving other sales platforms and moving to Kindle Unlimited soon.

Writing News

Here’s an update on my writing projects with a short excerpt from a couple of them.

His Irreplaceable Belle: I wrote the final chapter (chapter 15) this week! Yes, this one is done, and now, I must begin thinking about Felicity’s story. (Or, at least, I think I’m doing hers next. However, there is a character in these final chapters who might need his story told as well.)

Matching Mr. Darcy: I just finished chapter 10 of this story a few minutes ago. It’s beginning to feel as if the story is picking up pace as it moves towards its conclusion. Here is how chapter 10 begins:

“Mrs. Bennet was asking about you again today,” Bingley said as he slipped into a chair in the library at Netherfield. “Apparently, missing one day of calling to go shooting is understandable, but missing two is not.” He chuckled.

“Did you tell her that my cousin has come to visit?” Darcy asked, only momentarily glancing up from the book he was reading.

Bingley nodded. “She was shocked that you have not introduced him to her, but do not worry, Miss Mary took up your cause and told her mother that would be very unusual. And then, Mrs. Bennet excused herself to locate her husband. I should think we will be getting a call from the gentleman before long.”

“And how much about who I am did you tell her?” Colonel Richard Fitzwilliam asked.

“Only as much as she asked,” Bingley replied with a smirk.

“In other words,” Darcy said dryly, “she knows everything any mother of unwed daughters wishes to know.”

Bingley shook his head. “Likely more than that.”

Protecting Miss Darcy: I am up to chapter 5. Here is how that chapter begins:

“Georgiana.”

From the place where he sat near the window in his sitting room, Alfred could hear the scowl in Mr. Darcy’s tone.

“What are you doing?”

“I was just going to see if I could do anything to ease Mr. Alfred Langley’s plight.”

Alfred straightened in his chair. She was?

Lorcan kicked his foot. “I think someone has an admirer,” he hissed.

“I do not.” Did he?

“By visiting him in his apartment?” Mr. Darcy sounded even less pleased than before.

Cherishing Kitty: I should have edits back this coming week, and then, I can set the release day. 🙂 (I am expecting that day to be either April 23 or April 30.)

Book Promotion

This information can also be found on the Current Book Promotions page.

What if Darcy never returned to Netherfield with Bingley? What if he and Elizabeth did not see each other again for five long years? What would that reunion be like? And what prevented Darcy from returning as he wished to do?

Book Review

Again, I have selected this review on purpose because it tells you a couple of important things about this book which you should take into account before purchasing Finally Mrs. Darcy

  1. It’s a fast read. It is actually the shortest of my Dash of Darcy and Companion Collection books.
  2. There is no “will they get together” angst to this story because they get together in chapter one. This story is about how they move from being reunited to having the happiest possible happily ever after.

If those two important bits of information about this story are things that do not make a story unenjoyable for you, then I hope you will take the opportunity to pick up Finally Mrs. Darcy while it’s on sale.

Thank you, Amazon Fan, for leaving such a useful review on this book after you read it, and I’m so glad you found it at just the right time so that it could bring some sweetness and enjoyment to your life.

Moving to Kindle Unlimited in May

The next set of books to take a turn in Kindle Unlimited is the Darcy Family Holidays books:

  1. Two Days before Christmas
  2. One Winter’s Eve
  3. A Scandal in Springtime

This time, however, these books will be remaining in Kindle Unlimited for longer than one 90-day term. This series crosses over with my Other Pens series, which is currently, an evergreen KU read. I had hoped to pull that series out of KU this year for a time and offer it on other platforms, but, with how unsettled things are in the world at present, I think it is best if I hold off on that plan and just keep those books in Kindle Unlimited. Therefore, the Darcy Family Holidays series will also be in Kindle Unlimited for the foreseeable future.

For those who are not Kindle Unlimited subscribers, these books will not be removed from other sales platforms until the beginning of May, so there is still time to pick them up. I am also working on an omnibus of these three books which I will release at a sales price of (probably) $4.99 USD later this month.

You can find all the books in the Darcy Family Holidays series here

Have a good weekend! Be safe and well. I’ll see you on Monday.

Leenie Brown

Leenie Brown fell in love with Jane Austen's works when she first read Sense and Sensibility followed immediately by Pride and Prejudice in her early teens. As the second of five daughters and an avid reader, she has always loved to see where her imagination takes her and to play with and write about the characters she meets along the way. In 2013, these two loves collided when she stumbled upon the world of Jane Austen Fan Fiction. A year later, in 2014, she began writing her own Austen-inspired stories and began publishing them in 2015. Leenie lives in Nova Scotia, Canada with her two teenage boys and her very own Mr. Brown (a wonderful mix of all the best of Darcy, Bingley and Edmund with healthy dose of the teasing Mr. Tillney and just a dash of the scolding Mr. Knightley).

  1. Thank you for the discounts and sales. I’ve shared this with my friends and I am looking forward to the completion and beginning of the stories you are working on. What fun I have to look forward to reading. Blessings on the success of these stories. Keep safe and stay healthy.

    1. Thank you for sharing! That is such a great help and encouragement, JW. I have to admit that I am looking forward to the ending of stories more than the beginning of them — starting them is harder lol (and I get nervous that I won’t do the character’s story justice). 🙂 Be safe and well.
