About the Book:

A wrong room, a locked door, and a final opportunity to understand one another

When Fitzwilliam Darcy left Netherfield, Elizabeth Bennet had yet to decipher his character and assumes she will never receive the opportunity to do so until he unexpectedly arrives in Kent where Elizabeth is visiting a friend. Upon their first meeting, Darcy seems different from the arrogant man Elizabeth remembers, and stories she hears from his cousin Anne further confuse her opinion until she overhears a conversation.

Arriving for his annual visit at Rosings, Darcy is both delighted and hopeful when he learns that his aunt’s parson has a guest. Having been unable to rid his thoughts and heart of the lovely Miss Elizabeth, he has determined to press his suit. However, when his cousin Richard’s attentions are more readily accepted by Elizabeth than his own, Darcy fears he will have to part with the lady he loves forever.

However, fate and scheming relations are not about to let this couple walk away from each other.

About the Audiobook:

This story is read by Christopher, an authorized voice replica made available by the voice actor, through the Elevenlabs library. While this is a digital narration, the voice actor does receive compensation whenever his voice is used. In other words, offering authorized voice replicas on Elevenlabs is one way that some voice actors have chosen to diversify their income. And I am so glad that Christopher has chosen this option because I quite enjoy listening to him read me my stories. I hope you enjoy his performance as much as I did while getting it ready to share.

The Saturday Broadsheet (August 2020)

We are still enjoying some hot temperatures here. It has been a very warm summer for us, but those temps make our Saturday evening beach walks quite enjoyable. This picture is from this past Saturday’s walk. We checked out Conrad’s Beach. This vantage point if looking back to where our car is parked — waaaaaaay over there near the white house. Because this area with it’s sand dunes is a breeding ground for the Piping Plover (a small shorebird), everyone crosses from where they parked on the road across the boardwalk and to the sandy beach beyond. The beach is worth the trek.

My husband starts vacation from one of his jobs next week, so maybe we’ll be able to venture further afield to walk on some beaches that aren’t so close to where we live. That could be fun.

But enough of that. Let’s get on with all the writing, publishing, and book news you have opened this post to find. 🙂

Writing News

The only writing project I have worked on to any extent since my July update has been Her Convenient Forever. I thought it was going to end at chapter fifteen which I hit last week. However, it hasn’t ended yet. 🙂 Therefore, I have not started any serious work on any other writing project.

In editing news, I have gotten my manuscript back for Protecting Miss Darcy and will be starting the final read-through while making corrections this week. I’m still working towards having it ready to publish by September 3.

That reminds me! There was one other thing that I got written since I last posted. I wrote an epilogue for Protecting Miss Darcy / the Marrying Elizabeth series. I’ll schedule that to post this coming Thursday.

Music Monday: Schubert – Ständchen (Serenade)

I chose today’s music because when I was touring Uniacke Estate Museum this past Saturday (Yes, I was there again 🙂 ), there was a piece of music Schubert on the music stand in the sitting room. This tour was a special, limited-number tour in which the ropes were down and we were guided into the rooms and behind closed doors and given the chance to see things up close and from different angles. We even got to peek inside drawers and cupboards.

Here is the music stand with the music which was right next to the early 1800s piano and then on the other side of the piano were several music books.

We also visited Sherbrooke Village, a Victorian village, at the start of the week.

Between the two trips, I spent some time in bed and visiting therapists because, over the previous weekend, my hip began giving me some trouble and continued to worsen. (I think it was one walk up a steep gravelly path too many 🙂 ). Continue reading Music Monday: Schubert – Ständchen (Serenade)

Music Monday: Dance of the Imagination (Greg Maroney)

Guess what starts tomorrow? 😀

Grace Love was not the sort of lady who sat on the side during dances. She was not the sort of lady who stayed at home when there was an outing to the park. She was not the sort of lady who avoided any sort of fun. Or, at least, she had not been such a lady until now. And all it had taken for Grace’s world to change had been one house party.

With eyes narrowed, she watched the progress of her sister’s hat as the carriage Felicity was perched in made its way down the street.

“Grace, dear, do not spill your tea on that chair.”

“Of course, Mama.” Grace pulled her attention back to the sitting room in the house they were renting for the season and away from her treacherous sister.

I had considered attempting to find songs with either the word secret or whisper in the title for each week that this story posts. However, I do not know how many weeks that will be, and I thought I might get bored of that. 😀 So, I might toss in a few secretively titled songs over the weeks but not every week. This week, I have selected a song that is on my Music to Write By playlist on Spotify that has a title which reflects what must happen as a story is being written. The imagination must dance! 🙂

And my imagination has been dancing. I am not sure how many conversations Mary and Wes have had in my mind this week. It all has to do with future possibilities, however, and not the portion of the story I am currently writing. They are even making it a bit of a challenge to focus on any other story but theirs.
